Employee Fundraising

Fundraising for Carers Trust is a great way to motivate staff, project a positive corporate image, encourage team building and improve communications whilst raising money to support the UK 6 million unpaid carers.

Here are some fun ways to fundraise for Carers Trust

"The Resorts are really competitive so they try to outdo each other with the amount of money they raise and we have to keep them up to date with what’s happening at each Resort.

"Butlins has worked with a number of charities over the years but we can honestly say that we have more fun with the team from The Trust than we’ve had with any other charity."

Lesley Penniston, PR Manager Butlins

Kelly McAree from Accenture ran the London Marathon for The Trust, not only raising vital funds for and raising awareness of our cause, but also conquering personal health issues.

"Running for The  Trust felt like running for many difference causes -carers range from age 5 – 95, and those they care for are dealing with so many different challenges, from cancer to dementia

I think the work The Trust does is amazing, as are the people behind it. It’s so important that carers have the support of organisations like The Trust, and I was so proud to run for a smaller organisation where the money I raise goes directly to the people who need it."

Events Beneficiary

If you are holding an event, why not consider The Trust as the beneficiary:

The Pharmaceutical Marketing Society, who adopted The Trust as its charity partner in 2009, held their prestigious Advertising Awards at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel in January 2010 in which the Trust's Chief Executive was invited to speak. Following her poignant speech, guests participated in a fundraising prize draw in which a fantastic sum of just over £12,300 was raised.

Help your Local Carer Centre

There are many ways your company can volunteer to impact the lives of carers. One of these ways is by improving the services provided by or the resources available at local carers centres. Markel employees recently volunteered their time for their local carers centre.

Markel’s General Manager, Geoff, took up the challenge in Summer 2010 along with a team of hard-working Markel volunteers to re-decorate Leeds local centre. These were presented during Christmas time and accompanied with especially wrapped Christmas presents for carers by Markel employees.

"Having been actively involved in fundraising I was pleased when the re-decoration project came up as it was a opportunity to spend time at the centre and interact with the hard working staff at Carers Leeds. I have been back to the centre since our work was finished and I can honestly say it is a pleasure to visit - not only to see the results of our hard work but it was also a good to hear comments about how staff and people who Carers support felt their centre had been improved".
