hi im mummy to hannah who has a heart problem she is 28 mths tube fed, and a handful, i live with my mum and things go well most of the time BUT her ideas and mine about the way i live my life are different im only 31yrs and single i have been since i was 3mths with hannah im feeling lonely and would like the company of a male friend ive met we get along very well and he knows about our situation BUT my mum thinks its wrong for me to want these things i love my baby sooooooooooo much and my mum makes me feel so guilty about wanting something for me! im typing this i just want to cry, ive had such a busy week with hospital,speech class,nursery,nurses home visits,out reach workers,driving lessons and all the daily jobs of taking care of my baby plus doing all the things every mum does every day oh tube feeding normal feeding,meds,oh she sleeps with we bath together we are together 24/7 and i do love doing this for her i wouldnt change it but does it mean i carnt have something for me she makes me feel like a useless mum at times but i know i am not please someone tell me its ok to have a life outside my situation

Sat 3 May 2008 16:00hi nicky im sorry to read about your situation, if you feel happy when your with your male friend then you have nothing to feel guilty about you shouldnt need to put your own life on hold.he knows about your situation and it hasnt bothered him,everybody needs good friends dont feel guilty about that.

IT IS OK for you to have a life of your own outside your situation, you deserve to have some happiness for yourself. Do you have to live with your Mum? can't you get a little place of your own for you and your little girl then you can have a life of your own it will be hard, but just think to yourself I deserve this, and so does my little girl.
Ask your Mum how she would feel if she was in your position
I bet I know what the answer would be.!! Also tell her to mind her own business!!
Be positive and dont forget to keep saying to yourself I am not a useless Mum , with everything you have to do for your Daughter you are a special Mum.

Sun 4 May 2008 10:15Listen luv if you dont have a sniff at some sort of life or freedom what use will you be to your child in the long run? If you dont get head space you could end up with depression, you cant afford to be ill your child needs you. Your mum has no right to make you feel bad about wanting something for yourself, rather she should encorage you to live as normal life as possible and support you in this. Could she be worried about being replaced by your fella perhaps? care for your child yes but dont forget to care for yourself too. You please yourself luv, cause if you dont then 10 years down the line you may not be well enough to kick yourself for not doing so. XXX

there we go thinking we know it all!
Perhaps your ma is worried about you getting hurt or your little one getting attached to someone who may hurt her.
Does she know this guy?maybe you could introduce them?
My mother was a complete B**ch to my partner, but then again shes like that with everyone, even me lol.
I ended up staying with my bloke and not having owt else to do with her! Her loss.Of course youre entitled to a bit of hows yer father and company from another person.
breaks the monotony of daily life, if you can just get this bloke out of the cupboard, have a bit of fun and then put him back again....
it will make you better at your daily job and give you a smile on your face!You go for it girly.

Mon 12 May 2008 20:17give yourself a break we carers have a life too. Why should we be made to feel guilty about some time for ourselves. If you got someone to share your life with grab him with both arms i hope you will be very happy.
