Problems? - Give it back from whence it came!

Hi all
I'm new to all this and looking at your (useful) website i read so many tales of woe.........!!
I read Tamsins story and it made my blood boil and promted my reply :
"I have decided that whenever I get annoyed with 'the system' that I'm going to give it back from whence it originated - the government. So, I get a letter off to my MP and the secret is to copy it to a related organisation (like Age Concern - Carers Uk - local paper etc.) so that the matter can't get buried.

Don't get angry - get even!!

Don't let it get you down - remember
'nil illigitimus carbororundum'!! "
So - every time it goes wrong - give the problem back - make them sick of our problems.

Regards & Good luck

Best advice I've heard for a long time!!!! MPs HAVE to respond, and they tend to put the cat amongst the pigeions.

Try asking them to push for CA to be raised and removed the overlapping rule on CA or campaign for CA to be raised to the level of foster carers and what do they reply with a standardised letter that could have been written 20 years ago and the only thing changing is the name on the signature

Hi, Wildthing,

In my experience, few MPs want to be involved in real-life national political issues - unless it's a subject close to their heart! They simply pass any irritating general letters about carers' issues onto whoever deals with 'that sort of thing' at Parliamentary level, and then regurgitate a set party-political reply.

However, MPs know they are elected by local people to act on thier behalf, and individual problems submitted by contituents are usually dealt with quickly and fairly. Any correspondence from a constituent to an MP that involves a personal complaint at local level will normally be treated with respect.

And, generally, local branches of government officies/agencies fear contact from MPs and respond in favour of the complainant. After all, the MPs are their ultimate bosses!

Of course, that doesn't mean we should not also keep badgering all MPs about the plight of carers. If we all badgered all our MPs, then one day the message might get through! Roll eyes emoticon

All!

I have an idea. Shall we pool our resources? Let's form some kind of committee? Organize petitions? Involve Princess Anne? One bean in a tin can makes very little noise but thousands of beans makes SO MUCH NOISE! How many of us are using this website? How many of us are capable of putting together a few words which will really hit Central Government? I believe there are plenty of us so let's do it folk. One voice in unison but a REAL LOUD ONE! I look forward to your comments. Yes emoticon !!!
