Carers Relief Fund

I have just received a Grant from the Carers Relief Fund for a new washer drier. I have four or five loads of washing a day between two households and for the last three months I have been borrowing a friend`s machine for the bed linen and towels and doing the rest by hand.

Thank you so much. I hope other carers are able to apply and are as lucky as I was. This is the only time a grant has been offered "to make the carers life easier". Usually the caree is the applicant. Yes emoticon

Hello

Farzana if you are caring for a child under the age of 16 you can apply to the family fund. If you google Family Fund you should be able to find their website where you can print off an application. (note; once a child has reached their 16th brithday you can no longer apply to the family fund. Even if they are still in children's services. My son will be 16 in September the begining of the school year but I still won't be able to apply after his 16th birthday.)

As for carers relief grants, this really depends upon which area you live in and if your local carers centre has funds available. If you contact your local carers centre they should be able to inform you if they have a carers grant available and if so what their criteria is.

Should these fail you could have a look on line at your local radio station to see if they have any grants available. A lot of local radio stations have funding available for their local community. Once again you will have to see what their criteria is, as it is only wasting your own time and the funders time if you apply for something which is not available to the funders criteria.

Hope you get sorted out soon
good luck
