I'm not surprised you are angry Jeanette, I would be too, but sadly it's not just your area.( that doesn't help a bit though)
I know you have battled hard and long to get some badly needed assistance for you and your daughter. How many times do you have to be battered and bruised before they give you the help you need?
All I can say is hang on to your anger and don't be fobbed off by these unco-operative so called professionals

The manager phoned me (I requested it) Apologised amongst other things , and is arranging another meeting with a different person. Also going to put in writing what info they need. Appart from upset today he also explained (which I already knew) that critical three has to be dealt with ASAP and critical two (which my daughter is) comes after. there has been a very large number of the higher one which explains why we havnt been dealt with as we should have been. This saga today have put us back at least another week!! Did anyone else know there are three different levels of critical? Have calmed down now and am off my soap box!!

Jay, I can't believe the contempt they are treating you and your daughter with.

I had no idea there were different levels of Critical. That's what My hubby is classed as so you would think we would know wouldn't you

I do hope you get a speedy new date and all resolved as soon as . . . .

Hi Jeanette,
Please dont even talk to me about OT- here north wales i have never met such an incompetent and usless bunch of twats in my life...
four yrs we been waiting....
just for side gates and a porch. we were told the porch was ok'd 2 yrs ago- now we are told we cant have it as its not that essential but they would put lumps of wood on the windows to stopem climbing out there and also a key pad.
Bearing in mind we live on a major main road- literally juggernauts, lorries, cars, bikes, etc all day about 15 ft from out front door.
it would cost about 1,500 to do.
then i go up the council for something last month and see they have built a huge pointless porch on the front of their building (needed to use up the budget before the next financial year)
must have cost about half a million at a guess at least.

we ares till waiting for the gates.
Ive lost count how many phone calls, emails, letters, visits etc ivemade and guess what theyre always off sick-
all on bloody prozac these councillors aint they- think theyre stressed, they wanna walk a mile in our bloody shoes eh!

Hi Jeanette.

I know exactly what you are going though!! it has taken us 4 years to get the grant approved for an extention to get a downstairs bathroom and hoist fitted for our youngest who is 15!! and im still lifting him and carrying him upstairs for baths!!!
It got beyond a joke, the OT agreeing we need this work done but dragging there heels, i think when i said i could not cope anymore and would have to put him in to care they got there act in gear!! which is totally wrong.
Don't give up and don't wait for them to contact you get on the phome everyday and pester them they will soon get the message.

By the way our extention was actually started last monday now have a huge whole in back garden. lol

Am really sorry to hear of your experiences Kerry and Ann31bel. Yours sound worse than mine! You should not have been put in such a position as to having to 'threaten' them Ann31bel.The powers that be are so money saving orientated that they cannot see the dire need of adaptations ,which in the long run could save them lots of trouble and money! I cannot see us getting improved services,things are getting so bad where I live and presume you out there are possibly saying the same! Would like to hear of someone with something positive to say?
might cheer me up a bit!!
Have been given another appointment for next week ..so see if this one turns up!
Could we have an OT hosted chat on here please Sarah? That would be very helpful!

Hi Jeanette sorry to hear your probs with OT . Realy seams like Ot's are so different around the country. Lou's OT Helen is good althought this is the 3rd one have to say they kept leaving lol. She has got lou the new recliner chair , ceiling hoist in bedroom, getting us the mattress raiser for bed and also got the HA to sort the bathroom door to open outwards and new lights out side the flat. Only need her to help us get new double glazed front door to help keep heat in in the winter.
