Hiya Smile emoticon gather your papers together and ring tax credits as they can do your renewal over the phone, now i dont get carers allowance due to my incapacity benefit being higher than CA, even though i was awarded it Blink emoticon what was your income before CA? was you getting more than what you are getting now? if yes then stands to reason you should get an increase surely Yes emoticon

Hi jodiboo

I would agree with EL - when I was awarded Carers Allowance I telephoned Tax Credits and asked them if it made any difference, and they did a calculation for me whilst I was on phone - it didnt actually affect my payments, but I'm not in receipt of Income Support.

You will need to tell them the exact date you started to receive Carers Allowance, and they wil do a calculation using that info.
