If this Government follows the recommendations of N.I.C.E then it should hang its head in shame.
N.I.C.E suggests a withdrawal of three specific Dementia drugs for people with mild or severe Dementia (which includes Alzheimers) Only people who fall in the moderate catagory are recommended to receive one of the drugs. It is totally unethical and against all common sense to actually inflict a very severe illness , that can be held back for approx 12 to 18 months on someone, with the help of one of these drugs.

Mon 23 Jan 2006 18:21I do so agree Jeanette and have you noticed how its been the main headline on all the news bulletins today - in fact ITN had it as the subject of The Pulse at lunchtime with some excellent calls from Carers, the ones at the sharp end. The Telegraph this morning called it completely unethical.
Ive been at the receiving end of the idiots from NICE (I do hate typing that ! ! ) making stupid decisions with no respect for sufferers and their carers so I empathise totally with you.
