Hi sarah!
Have you had anything from the Family Fund before? If not, they usually come out for an initial visit to satisfy themselves that you fully meet their criteria! It sounds as though you may well ne in luck and get what you need! Pinkies crossed for you! I first accessed it 10 years ago and have had a couple of holidays from them once the initial assessment was completed. I can't use the service now as my partner has moved in with me and we are above the cut-off threshhold! Good luck! Big grin emoticon

Oh, they are very quick when giving the money for things! They also have payment cards for white goods now, i believe! Cool emoticon

we got help off the family fund last year for a new washer for my son the woman came out to our home because it was the first time we had applyed for it she came out and then she said she would have to write our case up on the computer to send back to the office for them to make a dission i think we waited for about 6 weeks to get our washer thay give us a card to go to comet.you can only reapply once a year for help off them

we had a bloke come out- the boys had to be there- and he did an assessment.
But we got turned down despite him saying we should have applied for more than we did at the time. They said the boys were too young to be affected by their condition...
however, i appealed on the grounds that it was meant to be for disabled children and their families, and that we were all affected even if the boys were too young at the time.
then we were accepted. It took about 6 weeks after all that.

ps now for washing machines and tumble dryers they give you a card that must be activated by ringing comet.
you must buy an extended five yr warrenty out of that money.
but you can add to it and buy a better machine.

hi Kate,
sorry but family fund is only for children up to 16.
there might be other agencies you could approach for help regarding your partner though- im not sure who as i care for children- but im sure there is someone on here who will know and can help you.....

Best wishes
