Hi
I am wondering if there is anyone from Reading who I could chat to about autism and anything else. My son is 7 and has a diagnosis of adhd and asd and we are looking to meet new friends who are in a similar situation. Also, has anyone attended the earlybirds course? was it helpful?
so many questions,,,,, Roll eyes emoticon
thankyou!!

Hi im not from reading, i'm from kent. But my son is 6 and has a diagnosis of high functioning autism/aspergers.
I've been on a course once a year for the last two years running, that is run by autistic outreach and it was quite helpful, and just nice to hear other ppl's stories, we laugh AND get upset. In our area there are three ppl working for 800 diagnosed children from across this side of kent, ( something like 4 towns) We therefore have to ask the schools to bring in autistic outreach to evaluate the childs progress in class, although i understand that staff is lacking, it's very frustrating as i think it should be a regular visit and assesment AND automatic- without your request!

Hi Tribe.

We live in Tadley near Reading and have a 7 year old boy with ASD. We are about to embark on the Early bird course in April. I have heard it is great for help and advice. Are you doing one? How long has your son been diagnosed? Does he have siblings? How is he at school?
