Thu 28 Feb 2008 21:15dunno about wages etc but your childs DLA and your CB wont be included as income.
also u should get extra for disabld child for child tax credit - we get extra premium for the boys on our child tax credit.

Re: would it be worth me?
Thu 28 Feb 2008 21:52when I went for my back to work single parents interview at job centre plus the girl was up front with me and said I would be no better off while being a carer unless I went to work full time................. easier said that done as she knew only too well being a carer herself but has a very good family support network.
However, saying that I was also informed that single parent carers are encouraged to take up a part time job to avoid the isolation which carers experience.
So how about offering carers a better part time working top up benefits to encourage anyone who is able to get out to do a part time job?
Yes. I know about the new increase in earnings before you get your carers allowance taken off you to £95 per week but what your not told if you were entitled to benefits that they get taken off you............
Just can't win unless you get lucky and your numbers come up on the lottery this week!
Or your married to some rich bloke who understands the demands of caring roles and for the single male carers out there for them a rich lady who also understands the caring role which you do.
Fat chance!
