part time hours

would anyone know if you work part time and the employer has training nights do we have to go to them all or just a percrntage ?????

Thu 28 Feb 2008 17:44I work part time and my employer knows that when I leave at 2.25pm, then if any training or meetings occur after this time, I won't be in attendance.
It's probably best to discuss this with your line manager and explain that you have to be at home for your caree.

Thu 28 Feb 2008 18:07they know im a carer as i have just gone part time because of this but all inset training is after work until 6 thirty i work in a school and we have 5 insets per yr they say i have to attend but i dont attend any other meetings throughout the week

Wed 12 Mar 2008 23:12You have to do the insets even though you're PT? I used to have to do the insets while local funding paid my wage but since the school employed me themselves (still PT), I no longer need to do the insets.
It's such a shame they don't coincide with my children's insets as that's 10 in total that may not coincide with mine which would be really handy!
