did any of you do any daft things when you were in your teens? i have an 18 year old son who has decided to go camping tonight with a load of his mates and plenty of booze. he must be bloody mad cos its freezing!!! did any of you lot do anything daft like that? come on, share your stories and re-live your youth!! I can remember playing out in the fields for hours on end with my mates. We were never in the house for long. I can reamember climbing up a tree and getting stuck up there. I remember buying lots of penny sweets and being cheeky to the shop owner. I can remember playing with my "tressy" doll .....that was a doll that if you pressed a button on her back and pulled her hair , her hair suddenly got longer. I whacked my sister round the head with it!! I had all the dolls that you could think of.....
!....tiny tears
2,,,,,, tippy tumbles
3......penny puppy walker
4.....pippa dolls
5....daisy dolls
6 .....Katy KopyKat (doll with her own desk)

Such happy happy days!!!!

still got my tippy tumbles but she don't tumble any more

my favorite was my chatty cathy don't know what happend to her but I remember breaking her and an auntie of mine told me she had her sent to a dolly's hospital and I really believed that my Chatty Cathy had been to a hospital. So I told everyone that I was sad because I had not gone to visit her while in the dolly's hospital and when I got her back give her a great big hug and told her that I was sorry I had not been allowed to go to the hosptial.

Only daft thing I did was going to a pub about six months before my 18th birthday and drank lemonade all night where I met my ex husband!

Lets say no more on that one!

I was a bit naughty- i would go to church on a sunday (sunday school) then on the way home i would go in local newsagents who had a stand by the door full of pencils, so i would stuff as many as i could down the back of my bible.
Also used to break into school with my mate wendy and nick stuff out of the stationary cupboards.
we raked the streets all day all year and would play knock down ginger, but one day came unstuck and knocked on school secretaries door and she chased us down the road.
we used to pretnd we had a large sheet of glass and would stand either side of the street with this invisibale glass, so all the pedestrians and drivers would have to go another way.

i did have a teddy once, it was a panda, and i loved him to bits but one day came home and he was gone and i found him in the dustbin so i rescued him, then a few days later he was gone again and it was after the bin men had gone, so i never saw him again.
isnt that sad!!!!! Crying emoticon

When I was young we lived around the corner from alot of OAP bungalows.
I didn't realise what I was doing at the time but I would go up to the doors with my friend and we would knock and then run off.
My mum found out and made me go to all the homes where I had done this and apologise.
I felt like the worst kind of criminal, though this is nothing to what the kid's get up to nowday's.
I'm glad I was a 60s child Big grin emoticon
I don't know about doll's or teddies, we used to get an apple, an orange, a tin of boiled sweets and an annual on christmas morning.
The one and only time I ever got a doll, it was the most beautiful doll I had ever seen in a red and black spanish dress.
I got it on the christmas morning and christmas night, my mum and dad went out, mum must have left my dad to it because he was blotto' and he let our alsation in the house then proceeded to pass out on the sofa.
Needless to say, my beautiful doll was chewed up.
My mum went mad at my dad who said he would buy me another one but it never happened Sad emoticon

I too had a Chatty Cathy doll for christmas many many years ago, I remember getting sooo excited as i undid the wrapping, But sellotaped to the box was..... A letter from the Man himself ... Father Christmas. Saying poor Chatty Cathy fell off the sleigh and if my mum took it back to the shop after Christmas he would make sure i had a new one! Coo i was so excited i told all the kids in the street Father christmas sent me a letter & showed them all the broken string in her back??. Anyway it came out years later that my dad came home from the pub drunk as a skunk as was usual and was trying to make Chatty Cathy talk fast that he pulled the string right out. We had many christmas's like that, but i remember them as really happy times. My birthday is near christmas and my dad never got home till closing time (at the pub) & he'd been teasing me about this wonderful present i was getting... well 10.30 came and my mum sent me to bed but i wouldn't sleep till my dad came in, He came upstairs and give me this "wonderful" present it was a tomato juice glass he got from the pub, well my mum bashed him all round the head & my dad went off to drown himself in the river with me and my brother's crying. the neighbours went out to look for him with no luck, it was only when a neighbour went to use the outside loo that my dad was found sound asleep in the loo. OOh happy days. Drink emoticon
