Jill Aldridge
Adult Guidance & Lifelong Learning Officer
Jill supports carers who have an interest in learning or who want to return to employment. She offers adult guidance interviews to individual carers, works with other agencies involved with education and learning and organises groups and training courses for carers to learn and develop new skills. The Adult Guidance Service was a category winner in the 2002 Community Care Awards.
Pam Bowen
Carer Support & Counselling Co-ordinator
Pam is responsible for the CARES Carer Support Project which provides social and emotional support to carers throughout the borough. Pam manages and supports the Carer Support staff at CARES and has responsibility for the Carer Groups run by CARES. Currently Pam is working on the establishment of a Counselling Service for carers in Sandwell. In 2000 the CARES Carer Support Project was a shortlisted finallist in the Community Care Awards.
Joy Clarke
Information & Outreach Worker
Joy works as part of the Information Team at CARES and provides a duty service on the CARES Telephone Helpline providing information, help and assistance to carers.
Lynne Davies
Information & Advice Worker
Responsible for the maintenance and development of the CARES Information Database, Lynne works on the Telephone Helpline providing information, advice and assistance to carers.
Neal Fleming
Information & Outreach Worker
Responsible for the CARES Outreach Service, Neal undertakes home visits to isolated and lonely carers. Neal also works on the CARES Telephone Helpline and provides information, advice and assistance to carers.
Geoff Foster
Chief Executive
Responsible for the day to day management of the organisation, staff supervision, fundraising and external liaison
Kate Johnson
Primary Care Development Specialist
Kate works with and supports GP's and other Primary Care Professionals to increase their awareness of carers needs and carers issues. The Primary Care work of CARES is funded through grant aid from Sandwell Primary Care Trust and Kate administers a fund from the Carers Special Grant allocation to develop carers work in Primary Care Settings. In 2006, the Primary Care Project was a category winner for 'Business Collaboration' in the Best of the Black Country Awards.
Anita Lakha/ Angel Lakha
Clerical Assistants
Angel & Anita are responsible for undertaking general office duties in support of CARES Staff.
Helen Mears
P.A. to Chief Executive
Responsible for the day to day management of the CARES General Office and the supervision & management of CARES Clerical Staff.
Marilyn Preen
Carer Support Development Worker
Marilyn works with Pam and Val on the CARES Carer Support Project. Marilyns' role is to develop the awareness of the Project within statutory and voluntary agencies and to recruit new members to the support groups run by CARES.
