Stirling Carers Centre

Can you help us?

Did you know that the company name of the Carers Centre is the ‘Carers Forum Stirling Area’ and any legal documentation relating to it comes under the banner of the ‘Carers Forum’? In this context we operate 2 mailing lists: one is the Forum Membership and the other is the day to day list of Carers registered with the Centre who use our services. We currently have 29 Members of the Carers Forum and in excess of 1000 Carers registered with the Centre.

The Forum is reviewing its membership and how its Members can have greater involvement in the shaping of the organisation - most importantly, it is looking for new Members.

So what are the benefits of becoming a Member of the Forum?

  • Within the legal structure of the Forum, Members are the only people who have the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting. Carers are invited to the AGM but may only vote if they are a Member.
  • Members will have advance notice of any events being held at the Centre.
  • The Centre is seen as an ‘expert’ on Carers issues and is often contacted to consult with Carers. When this happens we will firstly seek the views of our Members. This means that Members can be involved in things such as the planning of local services for Carers.

It is important to note that not being a Member does not exclude any Carer from the services we offer at the Centre.

As with most organisations Members pay an annual fee; currently £10 per annum. The fee may be paid in instalments.

If you are interested in becoming a Member or would like more information please contact Moira Taylor on: 01786 447003.
