We are a fully accredited member of the Fundraising Standards Board in Scotland - a self regulatory body which works to ensure that organisations raising money from the public do so honestly and properly. As members we follow a strict Code of Practice and comply with the key principles embodied in the Codes and in our Fundraising Promise. Stirling Carers Centre is a registered charity and company which offers a range of support/activities to unpaid Carers throughout the Stirling Council area. Unpaid Carers are ordinary people who help someone close to them who has an illness, disability or who is elderly/frail live as independently as possible in the community.
Our site comprises the six sections above. Each of the sections is packed full of information on a variety of topics of interest to Carers, Health, Community Care and other professionals who work with Carers.

A Carer is someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner,friend,or family member who needs help to manage on their own because they are ill, disabled or elderly and frail.
Many Carers do not think of themselves as a 'Carer'. They just do what needs to be done to help someone they care for to live as independently as possible in the community. Carers may also be juggling paid work with their caring responsibilities.
The 2001 Census revealed 600,000 adult Carers in Scotland of whom 8000+ live within Stirling Council Area. Almost 2000 of these Carers are looking after someone for more than 50 hours each week. There are an estimated 150,000 Young Carers in Scotland, of whom 2500 live within Stirling Council Area, – young people up to the age of 18years old who are helping to look after a parent, sibling or other relative.
