Television personality and interior designer, John Amabile, hosted the first Ladies Lunch to be held in Perth in aid of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers at The Bothy in Kinnoull Street on 15th April, raising £4500 for carers all over Scotland.

John Amabile, a long standing supporter of the Trust and member of the Scottish Campaign Board, said: "This is the first time that we have held a fundraising lunch in Perth and the tickets were a sell out. I am impressed by the generosity of those who lunched with me and look forward to meeting even more when we return to Perth next year".

Over 60 business women were entertained by John, while learning more about carers and the unpaid work that they do. They enjoyed lunch and a private fashion show by local retailers Le Prado, Sandalwood Shoes, Annie Stenhouse jewellery and Phase Eight.

Although there was initial disappointment that the scheduled male model was unable to attend, local farmer, Andy Sinclair, donned his kilt and stepped in at the last moment. Andy was a great success and swept one of the organisers, Lorna Gibson, off her feet.

Elaine McGonigle, Director of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, said: "Many local businesswomen contributed their time, energy and resources to make this a successful and enjoyable afternoon and our thanks go them for introducing the work of the Trust, and of carers, to a new audience".
