Carer Support Groups and Outreaches
Carer Support Groups provide ideal opportunity for carers to get together on a regular basis for chat, mutual support and information exchange.
Support Groups operate a strict confidentiality code so carers find a safe place to explore their problems and discuss the impact of caring.
The groups are facilitated by local Carer Support Workers who will organise speakers and up date the group on local issues etc.
For may, their local Carer Support Group provides a valuable relief from isolation and the opportunity to get involved in social activities where it's difficult to go on your own.
Further information on local availability and times can be accessed through the Centre.
Outreaches
Locally based Carer Support Workers are available within Social Work Departments and hold regular community based Outreaches in the following towns/areas: Airdrie, Bellshill, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Cambuslang/Rutherglen, Clydesdale, East Kilbride and Motherwell.
