Carers Groups
Carers Groups provide an opportunity for carers to share experiences and meet new friends. There are 2 groups for Young Carers, a Parent carers group, Minority Ethnic Carers Groups and a monthly generic carers Forum. Groups offer information and support and can subsequently reduce isolation and stress.
The Dixon Carers Forum meets every 3rd Wednesday evening in the Dixon Centre from 7.30pm. Please note that assistance is available to help carers attend.
Every monday afternoon (1.30pm-2.30pm)carers meet at the Dixon centre for their weekly Chi Ball class. New members welcome.
Our Carers creative writing group meets in the carers centre every Tuesday from 10.30am-12.30pm. New members, especially beginners are always welcome.
Also on a Tuesday we have a Carers Drop-In from 10.30am-12.30pm. All Carers welcome.
The minority ethnic carers group meets every Wednesday from 1.30pm-3.30pm, currently the Carers are taking part in an emotional literacy course. Carers interested should contact the Centre.
Also on alternate Thursday's between 6.30pm and 8.30pm the Centre runs two Young Carers groups. The Senior group for ages 12-18 and Junior group for ages 5-11 help reduce pressures on Young Carers by providing diversionary activities and outings. Young Carers interested should contact the Centre.
