Emergency Card
A 24 hour Rapid Response Messaging Service for Carers. If you are looking after someone regulary you may worry if you are taken ill,or are in an accident, or a similar emergency. The Carers Emergency Card is designed to give carers piece of mind in such circumstances.
This service is available 24 hours a day 365 days a year, it is run in partnership with Carecall, the Community Alarm Service.
When can I use it?
You can use the card in any emergency, from a minor incident eg. a car breakdown where the person you care for is waiting at home. Also a larger emergency eg. if you are taken ill suddenly and have to go into hospital.
How does it work?
In an emergency a telephone call will be receieved by Carecall which will put into motion the plans which you will have previously arranged. If your emergeny arrangements should break down for any reason, Social Services will be alerted to the situation.
This service is completely free of charge and information will be treated in the strickest confidence and comply with the Data Protection Act.
The Cared For Card?
This card will be issued to the person who is cared for it can be used if they are involved in an accident or emergency, or if there arrangements break down. This card will alert people to their needs.
