Our Services

Crossroads Caring for Carers (Isle of Man) runs many respite services for carers from its dedicated premises, The Isle of Man Carers' Centre in Derby Square, Douglas.

Care at Home Scheme

Trained Carer Support Workers provide high quality respite care in the cared for’s own home to allow the carer to have a much needed break.

Preschool Services

Dedicated staff operate a playgroup for children with care needs and those coping with a care need within the home, and provide supported placements in mainstream nurseries for children with specific care needs.

Outreach Scheme

Providing support to clients with learning difficulties within work placements, promoting independence and self esteem allowing carers to share some of their caring reponsibilities.

Social Club

A group meeting twice a week for young adults with care needs to socialise and learn life skills, promoting their independance and providing respite to carers.

Young Carers Scheme

A fun and energetic scheme giving young carers a break away from their caring role and allowing them to enjoy being children.

Holiday Scheme

A scheme providing parents of children with care needs with a much needed respite break during school holidays.

Children’s Disability Database

An important collection of statistical information, identifying carers, enabling planning for future services and identifying gaps in sevice provision.

Building Bridges Project

An exciting new pilot scheme funded for 10 months dealing with 14-25 year olds with learning difficulties and/or mental health issues.

Crossroads also operates a Charity Shop on Prospect Terrace, utilising volunteers in the sale of high quality, second hand goods. The shop is home to our Information Centre and is managed by a Carer Support Worker, enabling us to use the shop as a work placement for clients with learning difficulties.
