Our Information Service

Carers Leeds stocks extensive information relevant to Carers and is committed to ensuring that Carers are able to access this.

We provide information in the following ways:

  • Newsletter, published every other month, containing information relevant to Carers and professionals concerning - see Carers News page in the services section of our website for more information
  • Information system containing local and national leaflets and information on services
  • The DissBASE computerised information system. Carers and professionals are welcome to telephone us for information. They can also book a session on the computer to use the system themselves
  • Access to the internet by arrangement
  • Working with other organisations to ensure Carers receive the information they need to access help and support such as with Mental Health Trust Carers Team, Employment Services
  • Using opportunities such as Carers Week, Carers Rights Day to distribute information in a public place relevant to Carers and to highlight Carers issues.
  • Regular information sessions on caring issues. In the past these have covered topics as diverse as welfare benefits, mental health law, drugs and medicines and the Direct Payments system.
