A big thank you to everyone who has worked with us over the last few months to plan our Carers Strategy for Islington including Paulo Mata from Islington Carers Forum.

This is an Action Plan for providing services to local carers over the next three years and it has been really important that it is based on your views and ideas.

Over the last year we have aimed to use the Carers Grant to respond to gaps in services and particularly to target people not receiving any other help.

Uses of the Carers Grant include:

• a new support group at the Alzheimer’s Society,
• a new group at the Young Carers Project,
• training courses for parents of children with autism,
• health days for carers,
• carers week activities,
• support for carers who care for people with alcohol problems
• one to one help for carers of people with mental health problems.
