Tribute Funds

In recent years, an increasing number of our supporters have asked us about ways to remember or honour someone special, and keep their spirit alive, by making gifts in their name to support our work.
Because of this feedback, we established a very special programme, called ‘Forget-me-not’ Tribute Funds.
What is a Tribute Fund?
‘Forget-me-not’ Tribute Funds are a special way for friends and family to remember a loved one and help fund our vital work in their name. Anyone can set up a Tribute Fund and then support the Fund in any way they choose. Tribute Funds allow you to do something positive in the name of a loved one. People who have set up a Tribute Fund have said that it has helped them to channel their emotions and involve others in a positive way.
How does it work?
We set up a named Fund in honour of your loved one. Each Fund is individual and allows family, friends and colleagues to raise money to help a cause that was dear to your loved one. All contributions into the Fund help make it grow and can provide a positive goal or focus for family members, whilst supporting our vital work.
Anyone can contribute in any way they wish and there are many ways that friends and family can make contributions to the Tribute Fund. Some people participate in sponsored events, others decide to set up monthly gifts, and for some it is more appropriate to simply set up a gift on a special date to support the Fund such as a birthday or anniversary.
Bit by bit you can watch the Fund grow and know that every penny goes towards our important work to support family carers across the UK.
"My sister died two years ago, just 55. After years of caring for her, a way for my family and I to get through the dark days was to say thank-you. We decided to invite everyone who loved her to donate money to The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, an organisation that helped us enormously in the past. Their 'Forget-Me-Not' Tribute Fund gave real focus of remembrance, enabling everyone to celebrate my sister’s memory. Those donations and the ones we’ve made since, at birthdays and other times like that, have created a living tribute to my sister that helps other people cope with the struggle of caring. I think she would be very happy knowing that something good had come from all this.” Pauline, 57
Do something they loved
“My dad loved to play jazz trumpet especially in big bands. When he died a few years ago, some of his old musician pals suggested we hold a concert in his memory. The evening was great fun and a great success!” Ben
Get people together
“When the Chairman of our Cricket club passed away, we knew the best way to remember him and raise a bit of cash, was to hold a cricket match in his honour. We asked his wife who we should donate the money to and when she said that The Princess Royal Trust for Carers had done so much to support them both, the choice was simple.” Alasdair
