Thea Stein is Chief Executive and the main spokesperson for Carers Trust. She joined the Trust in this role in September 2012.
Thea started her career as a Clinical Psychologist and Family Therapist and has spent more than 20 years working for Health Authorities, Health Boards and Local Authorities in England and Scotland. She was one of the first Joint Directors for Adult Social Care and Health Care commissioning in the UK and subsequently was Chief Executive of Leeds North Primary Care Trust.
Before joinging Carers Trust, Thea was the Chief Executive of Yorkshire Forward, one of the Regional Development Agencies for England. Upon joining the newly merged organisation Carers Trust, she said:

There are already six million unpaid carers in the UK and the number is set to increase to nine million as people are living longer lives, particularly disabled people and those with long-term conditions.
