Simplyhealth Caring Awards 2006

GPs and carers are once again invited to share with The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Simplyhealth (formerly HSA) their experiences of supporting carers and being supported by their GPs respectively. The deadline has now been extended to the 18th September.

Simplyhealth Caring Awards were created to recognise and celebrate the excellent work that some GP surgeries are doing to support family/unpaid carers. The awards that are available to enter are:

Simplyhealth Caring Surgery Award

We are inviting GPs to fill in an application form (available to download below) and tell us more about how you support carers in your practice. There will be three awards made this year, The Gold award will receive £2,000, The Silver award will receive £1,000 and The Bronze award will receive £750. We ask that all winning surgeries put at least half of the money into their carers support work.

Simplyhealth Carers Choice

This award is for family/unpaid carers to write to us and tell us how their GP has supported them as a carer. It is very important to focus on the support they have given to you, not just the person you care for. All you need to do is write a letter or send an e-mail including your name, address, telephone number and your GPs name, address and telephone number and why you think your GP should win.
