Hilary Devey joins Carers Trust as Vice President

We are excited to announce that Dragon’s Den star, Hilary Devey, will be joining Carers Trust as Vice President. Founder and CEO of the UK’s leading palletised freight distribution network, Pall-Ex, Hilary has always been a long standing supporter of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, which merged with Crossroads Care earlier this year to form a new carers’ charity called Carers Trust.

Andrew Cozens, Chair of Carers Trust, said: “Hilary has been a Patron and long-term supporter of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, donating more than £150,000 over the last five years both through her freight network and personal gifts.
“We are delighted that she has accepted the position of Vice President of Carers Trust and we are very grateful for her continued support and her understanding and commitment to carers across the UK.”

Hilary’s support for carers began in 1996 when she devised a ‘penny-a-pallet’ scheme, through Pall-Ex. For each pallet delivered by Pall-Ex, one penny is donated to charity, allowing giving to grow in tandem with business success.

With this new appointment, Hilary has reaffirmed her commitment to act as an Ambassador for the cause of unpaid carers. Announcing her appointment as Vice President, she tweeted “I feel so honoured by Carers Trust (@CarersTweets) to be appointed their vice-president, a most worthy charity and close to my heart.”

Anne Roberts, Chief Executive Carers Trust, said: “Hilary has been interested in caring issues, and has supported our work, for many years, and so we’re thrilled to have her support as Vice President of Carers Trust. Judging by the response she’s received on Twitter to the announcement she’ll be a popular choice with carers too! We are all really looking forward to working with her to help carers across the UK.”
