Alzheimer's Awareness Q&A

Alzheimer's Awareness Week. Dementia affects everyone. Alzheimer's Society

Throughout this week we are running a Q&A thread on our discussion boards to highlight Alzheimer's Awareness Week, organised each year by the Alzheimer's Society.

There are 750,000 people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in the UK, but many more are affected. Dementia connects the whole community – carers, partners, colleagues, parents, children, grandchildren, neighbours, shopkeepers, service providers, health and care professionals. And anyone can develop dementia, whatever their age, gender, education, profession, sexuality or ethnic group.

Peter Gill is the Senior Information Officer at the Alzheimer’s Society and manages the National Helpline information services. Peter will be happy to try to answer any questions that anyone has about any form of dementia – not just Alzheimer’s disease. Please visit the thread now and post up your questions; remember he may not be able to answer specifically local questions.
