Hello Tracey

A warm welcome to you and am glad that you found this site.
There are plenty of people on here of all ages who are able to offer you good help and advice.
I am so sorry that the burden of looking after your mum has fallen on your shoulders. It seems like your 2 sisters just want to get on with their lives and leave all the worrying of your mum to you.
Please pop into the chatroom, usually somebody in there after 10pm in the evening or from 2.30pm in the afternoon through the week when I am there. If you want to pop in at another time then tell me on here and I will try and get in if I am not busy elsewhere.
There are many good people on here who are able to offer you good advice and we generally end up having a good laugh in the evenings. Some days I have felt sad when coming on but will end up very cheerful after a short time of chatting with others.

Good to meet you

Hi & welcome. Its normal Peachy - one takes up the caring role and the others run for cover!!!! Before long they'll reappear to tell you where you are going wrong too!!
I care for my grown up sons who are Autistic and my husband who is Paraplegic!
Like Hal says - try pooping into the chatroom or popping even!!! lol
You need Java to get in.

Hi Tracy,

Welcome. I look after my mum and dad.
I can understand a little of what you are going through, my sister, who is actually a couple of years older than me, lives her own life. She doesn't hesitate to tell me I am doing things in the wrong way though.

Take care
Mike

Hi Tracy - I look after my disabled and elderly parents, both 86, and both have mobility problems. I have a sister and two brothers - they visit my parents but no one else "cares" as such. Advice is freely given like Mikehudds says but help is a strange concept to any of them. Excuse is I haven't got a partner or children ... so I guess my lack of a life doesn't matter. Just remember we are doing a wonderful think ... however tired it makes us!!!

People always seem to think that they can do better than you and criticise the way that you are doing things, that is until you put them in the position of taking on the role of looking after somebody then they suddenly realise how difficult the job of caring really is.
