Hi all,

With Carers Week and the New Deal for Carers launch today, there is a lot of coverage of carers' issues at the moment.. here is mix of some of it so far, in case you want to read / watch again - Michele

I also saw Mr Fox on BBC News24 this afternoon.

I was very disappointed that he was so supportive of the Strategy regarding respite. He didn't mention the fact that it has been drastically cut back over the last few years. In some cases it is almost non-existent and for the majority of us 2 x nothing = nothing.

all very useful for my dissertation on parent carers which reminds me.... i must get cracking on!ho hum, no rest for the wicked eh!

I think what we must do collectively is start filling up comments on these newspapers. I do at everyone I see so thanks will look at these today.

BBC Radio Newcastle have also been interviewing carer's this week. You can access radio Newcastle on their web site and also have a listen again in case you miss the show.

The interviews are being boardcasted around 10.45 am on the Jonathan Miles show web link is

If this web link brings you to your local BBC radio you are able to find other Local Radio BBC stations if you put in their search Tyne or google Newcastle Radio
