Fri 22 Feb 2008 13:45I know Scottish Hydro Electric have a Careplan for customers who spend over 10% of their total household income on energy bills. They offer the qualifying customers up to 20% discount on their current fuel prices, regardless of which payment method they use. Other companies probably have similar - check their websites (although not always easy to find - I typed in "discount" on Scottish Hydro's search area).

Fri 22 Feb 2008 20:01If I might just suggest something here......Before opting for a so called 'Social tariff' have a look at U-switch or one of those similar web-sites & see what savings can be made by switching from your present supplier. Social tariffs are not always the best bet . It is the perfect time to switch & really make BIG savings if you have never done so before.....Plus up to £ 30 cash back for gas & leccy. Good luck with it. As carers we cannot afford to pay over the odds ...
