Hi does any one know any good carpet shampoos and poo stain removers.
toilet training three autistic children at the same time i have alot of mess
(sorry about the image)
Ive tried endless cleaning products and none are any good.
Im trying to get funding for new safety /vinyl flooring but not had any luck yet. So it will be a long process re flooring the whole house. Not to mention costly.

Hi Tired Lady

Sorry to read about you problem with the stains, have you thought about trying the Rowntree Trust Family Fund to see if they can help you, if you children are under 16 you should be eligible for some help, people get help with all sorts of things like holidays, furniture, some families get help every year!

Try looking on the internet for The Rowntree Trust, or perhaps some other Carer on this site might be able to give you the details .

Take care

if you have carpets, have you tried investing in a vax carpet washer? I have got one and its the best thing for carpets. You would be amazed at what comes out of your carpet!!! Laugh emoticon

Hi loopy
What shampoo do you use in your vax.
im now on my 3rd carpet cleaner ( they are used so much the blow up on me. hoovers too)
i scrub them too with a brush on my hands and knees but the stains wont come out. I guess i will have to slowly replace every one.
ive applied to the family fund and i will try and get my sons keyworker to apply to the percy bilton fund. i never knew they existed. sparhawk mentioned this one, on this site
he has mentioned quite a few.
i privately rent. as the council think we are not a needy
enough family . to recieve a council house So the carpets ive got to replace arent mine.
if we ever move the carpets have to stay or be replaced again if they are not in good enough condition for my landlord.

thanks for your replies

someoone said the rug doctor cleaners that can be hired from some supermarkets and dry cleaners are supposed to be really good at getting most stains out. They are reasonably cheap to hire out. You might also like to try pet stain removal which is also quite reasonable in cost. these might help Yes emoticon

i think your landlord will have 2 expect wear + tear on the carpets so i wouldnt worry on that score , he might even have insurance 4 them? . take care barbara xxx

Hi tired lady,
sounds like you have your hands full 9as well as your carpets lol)
have you thought of laying off the toilet training til the summer?
they wear less clothing which is easier to wash or remove quickly if they rush to go to the loo. also they can play in the garden and it doesnt matter if they dirty there. (im assuming you have a garden, perhaps you dont?)
your landlord will be insured for the carpets.
I have a carper cleaner and i put in some lemon oil along with the shampoo, or something like that cos it at least makes it smell nicer!
just a few drops.
cant believe you have 3 disabled kids and they say youre not 'needy enough' for council house. OMG that is just awful.
Can you not fight this decision? maybe the DDR could help or point you in the right direction, i dont know.

just a cheap cleaner from my local home bargains or wilkinsons store. Its only 99p and it smells lovely. I am not in a very good mood at the moment having just told off my gobby 18 year old son BIG TIME. his attitude to me and his dad stinks. I get more trouble off my 2 "able" kids than i do off charlotte!! Crying emoticon

Hahahaha loopy
Its me again (im avoiding doing my uni work which is naughty but nice)
laughing at your 18 yr old. he he, as youve guessed me too have nealry 17 yr old and 19 yr old daughters, non disabled, one at uni one at college.
I can relate to that!
sometimes i think if i spoke to me mother like that.... but then i panic and think OMG i sound like me mother and thats worse!
They make ya feel so bloody guilty dont they, just for the simplest things...
my lucy is called kevin off kevin and perry and my eldest amelia is called arfer cos she only do arfer job, listens to arfer converstaion....etc.

sometimes i too think they are harder than the boys, especially lucy (or Kevin) as she is a wind up merchant... winds the boys up to fever pitch then goes away and leaves us to deal with the hyper activity, tempers and so on...
Put it this was: when the elder one said she wanna go to digs at uni i couldnt get in her room quick enough to help her pack lol.
Only problem she keep bloody coming back!

Has anyone else tried using soda crystals. I ran out of my vax shampoo and we still have a mucky passage carpet which we needed to get cleaned. I had a packet of soda crystal in (which is very cheap to buy and great for all sorts of cleaning around the house!) Our passage carpet came up almost like new which we never thought was possible
