my son is currently undergoing a diagnosis of higher level functioning aspergers syndrome, he is only 6 - my daughter who is 7 has a lot of autistic tendancies also but they dont want to diagnose her as she has already been diagnosed with so many other things.

If you ever want to chat I am more than happy as my brother is autistic and my two nephews also.
I used to work in a special needs school and have experience of children with autism - a lot of tlc is really needed and autism often goes in hand with ADD or ADHD.

There should be a local support group - if you contact your local social services they should put you in touch. Does your son attend a child development centre? and have you contacted the LEA yet? as you may want to start this early - children with autism are often entitled to early home special needs education - my daughter had a special needs teacher when she was only 2 years old who came to our house and literally taught her to play.
Cool emoticon
When your son goes to school and even before that you may want to ask for him to be referred to play therapy - since my son started his new school he gets a lot of support from a play therapist and he also has what they call 'nurture sessions'.
Smile emoticon
