static shocks from wheelchair

does anyone else suffer from static shocks when pushing a wheelchair round, i always get them, then pass them on to the shop assistant, any one know of a cure?

You can easily stop this little problem by earthing the wheelchair. Perhaps a little chain a few cms long that will touch the ground when you stop or that will touch the ground on & off as you take the little bumps. The static will then just discharge to 'earth'.
