Thu 4 Sep 2008 17:57Took a year of frustration and tears before we eventually got the stairlift my husband needed, but not through social services, no! Took the kindness of a charity in the end when it got to the point where he couldn't get up or down the stairs anymore after a spell in hospital. Support, what support? We don't want to be int he benefit system, we have no choice, the illness dictates our lives. We are grateful for the financial support but just want to get out of this poverty trap !!!!!
