Medical assessment

Just writing in for a rant.
I had to go for a medical assessment the ther day. To check I'm still eligible for incapacity benefit.
I understand they have to do this cos of people who cheat. But I'm not! I had to give up work last year cos my son was diagnosed with a mental illness & the place I worked were less than helpful, to put it mildly! I Left work with stress, anxiety & depression.
I am still stressed & depressed & going to talk to a stranger (no matter how nice they are) about how I cope with life only adds to that stress!!
I went home. Lay on settee & listened to Russell Watson cd to chill.

There I feel better for saying that.

Rant over. I am now going to pour myself a long glass of wine & soda. Yes emoticon Drink emoticon

Hi hippyp, i have yet another assesment in 2 weeks, i have them every year now as i have been on IB for 6 years. I do get fed up with the whole malarky but as you said there are benefit cheats out there. However since my circumstances with my son have changed my stress has gone down a lot, i havn't had 1 panic attack in the last 4 weeks, also only 2 episodes of palpitations. I cant seem to shift the odema you get with a heart condition, anyway (wafflin on a bit) i saw an advisor last week as i am keen to return to part time work, im hoping for a school job so it wont interfere with care in the hols. Im opting for the 'permitted work' scheme, its where i can work up to 15hrs 59mins per week and still get my IB for 52 weeks, at least this gives me the chance to find out if i can cope going back to work.
