We recently moved area to have a better quality of life for all of us,but especially our disabled son.
I contacted the right depts two months before moving, sadly it took7months for us to obtain 5 half days at a local daycare for our son. Half days because no one can meake up their mind who should pay, to cap it all the local pct now want our old pct to pay as our son came from their area with his problems.Question would the arguement be the same if we came in from abroad.

Wed 2 Apr 2008 15:11PS. Due to the fact he's on half days I have to collect him as they have no transport or escorts so I'm saving the ss £65.00+ pw.

we did the same as you: moved for better quality of life etc for boys. I thoroughly researched the entirety of wales before we moved 300 miles to here, and was told by head of SS that they boys would get this this this this and this etc....
so much on offer i was told..
when we moved they got nothing! I fought for 2 hrs pw but eldest didnt get it at all and youngest hardly ever as carer kept not turning up etc.
the head of SS had in the meantime gone on long term sick so no luck there.
in the end i went to local paper...
worked a treat, was offered so much (which apparently wasnt available before) i was turning it down.Maybe you could do this.
damn shame we hav eto be so drastic all the time to get things done innit!
