Doug HendersonTo ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions whether it is his policy to maintain the value of the carer's allowance in real terms.

Carer's allowance is increased every April in line with movement in the retail prices index and there are currently no plans to change these arrangements. However, the future of carer's allowance is now being examined as part of the review of the Prime Minister's 1999 national carers' strategy. The review is due to be published in spring 2008.

Or will it be removed in favour of DP and IB.
How would Carers feel about being their carees employee?
What if no agreement can be reached on terms and conditions?
Bring in the union?

Sun 2 Mar 2008 09:27Yes Cheryl it is about time a Union of Carers was formed and a march maybe for those carers still fir enough.Lobbying and a bit of high profile that really matters, not begging as we had on This Morning. We have a man "Daz" on here in need of a washing machine. Some of those funds collected should be going to helping him and those like him. But no we have to beg again, in this day and age it shouldnt be happening, we are not a third world country, but I am beginning to believe that carers are treated as third world citizens. Lets have some power back in the hands of the people not just rich politicians
