Obviously there's the citizens advice bureau but it might also be worth contacting the financial services authority if you think you've been mis-sold a financial product/service.

Good luck.

Try the banking ombudsman - your lender is obliged to give you contact details. Hope you get it sorted.

Lloyds TSB did this with my sister in law. Sold her a "protection" policy when she was on benefits for a loan. When we tried to claim of course we were told she wasn`t working so couldn`t claim. Kept nagging at them but they wouldn`t budge.

In the end we opened a new bank account with another bank for her benefits to be paid into, wrote a letter telling the bank why the account was no longer being funded and that no further repayments would be made to the loan as the cost of the premiums she had paid to them covered the outstanding loan amount. Copy sent to the banking ombudsman, and within three weeks it was all sorted out. Pity she had suffered two years of worry and letters telling her she was overdrawn and being charged for the priviledge. All these charges were refunded too, after the ombudsman stepped in. It pays to nag them.

Take care
Meg
