How do i get respite for my 8 year old son?
I know of others who get 4 - 6 hours a month but just dont how too get it? Can anyone help?

Thu 6 Nov 2008 15:24You need to get an assessment from Social Services asap and maybe contact your local Contact a Family Charity too. Hope this helps.

Also there is in our local area The Learning Disabilities Federation (LDF) who also offer short respite like 4 hours every second week which is great as it helps with them going out shopping/swiming.
you just pay the cost of your child going out with the respite carer.
Check your local area online.
I think it may be national but I will find out.Best of Luck

You could still check it out as they have a web site and they maybe able to point you in the right direction.
