Wish i could pet but this one has me stummped, i remember being on 10mg valium at that age for my mood swings and depression, turns out i had policystic ovaries, which really messed my hormones up way back then though it wasn't heard of really so i wasn't treated. Has she been assessed for bipolor? are you strict with her food ie artifitial flavours and colours as well as the amount of grams of sugar hidden in food as all these contribute to mood swings all the additives in food are basically poison to our bodies

Thanks EL, yes she was being assessed for bipolar while in hospital. Initially she was put on sodium valporate (mood stabiliser) but that didnt seem to make any difference. But since she's been on anti depressants which has lifted her, we are starting to see the possible 'manic' behaviour. I do watch what she eats but she fights it!

When Adam is feeling worked up or down in the dumps his goes to his room and puts all his lamps on, he has quite a lot and everyone does something different with different colours and one has a waterfall sound effect which he loves, have you tried sensory light therapy with your daughter? how do you think she would react to the suggestion

No I hadn't thought about sensory therapy but its certainly something I'd try. Not sure what reaction I would get from Sophie though as she's very negative
