Tue 17 Jun 2008 08:14You can scream and shout and get it all off your chest on here luv but when you have calmed down you need to sit down and write to the surgery manager sending a copy to you dads doctor in the form of a formal complaint, you should state that you have also sent a copy of the letter to the medical board or what ever they are, he /she has acted negligently and should not be allowed to get away with it, my doctor once rang and spoke to my husband telling him i had grade 2 cancer of the cervix!!! its my f**y why tell my hubby and not me
who then thought he was doing me a favour by keeping it from me till the day of my colposcopy
i have to psych myself up to allow someone to poke around my nether regions :) i was spittin feathers i can tell you and i didnt let them get away with it either screaming and shouting at the stupid t**t who phoned, i was asked to leave but not before i kicked up a stink

Re: the doctors shit
Tue 17 Jun 2008 14:49My wife had a stroke at 38, her mother died from brain hemorage, her father 3 strokes, so when my 19 year old daughter suffered what we still believe to have been a (TIA) mini stroke, i was surprised when the doctors at the hospital passed it off as severe migrain.
I had to kick off before thay would do a brain scan, and again to get a referral to a neorologist, in the letter to neorologist our doctor said that my wife (beckys mother) had died from her stroke, so who has he been treating and who have i been caring for the last 4 years.
But thay have all the trump cards if you kick off thay can refuse treatment and you try getting another surgery to take you then, dont worry about the title, as carers we have to put up living in a world full of it (shit that is)

Tue 17 Jun 2008 16:01My local doc is known as doctor death!
I changed to another surgery! The trouble with doctors is that they are trained in a certain way with the medicalisation of medicine back in the 18th C.
Not gonnna get all boring but i do all this in uni with my health and social care degree and it does explain a lot of why doctors act the way they do.
BUT they are governed by the GMC and you can complain to them if you dont get anywhere with your medical officer at the surgery. Its appalling Kee but not unusual to hear stories such as yours.
Dont let em get away with it matey.

Tue 17 Jun 2008 21:14I had a peptic ulcer when i was in my early 20's for which my doctor was treating me, about a week later i complained to him that the pain seemed to be getting worse, he gave me a prescription which i got from boots instead of my usual chemist, another week after that while in my local chemist i collapsed
the pharmacist took care of me while waiting for the ambulance and went through my bag to check for contact details etc etc, he found my meds......Voltarol, he said if i had carried on taking the meds till the end of the course they probably would have killed me
after tests in hospital they found that my stomach was bleeding
that same doctor was struck off about a year later for something unrelated
