right answer me this one............how hard can it be to access some school policies?? I have been asking my parent liason officer at my daughters special school for some school policies for about 5 weeks now!! each time i am met with answers such as " i promise i will get them done for you and you can have them when your daughter comes home" or " i have to access them on the computer and print them off' or " i have been busy in meetings" or " we are in the process of updating our school policies". AAAAAARRGGGHHHHH!!!! why dont or wont they just give me a copy of the school policies that they already have insttead of fobbing me off with a load of excuses??? surely its not that bloody hard!! Parents have a right to see the school policies dont they?? I am seriously p----- off with them now. Hello Loopy

Give your Local Education Authority LEA a ring and tell them you are requesting them and having problems in recieving them. Or if you have access to a Parent Partnership Officer give them a ring and ask for some assistance in getting these policies.

If no joy with any of the above you can access ACE Advosory Centre for Education

web site

www.ace-ed.org.uk

Hope this helps you on your way
and i know how annoying it is when you have to go and search for things yourself. Especially when a caring role is stressful enough without putting on extra unnecessary stress like this.............. no wonder we become the experts when dealing with our children's needs which is just as well when we are faced with such bleep bleep so called professionals!

i mean it aint rocket science to log on and print off a few policies, even i can do that!!! and thats saying something....lol. Anyway, have just been on to the school again and they said they are sending them home so it will be interesting to see if they do. They told me that daughter may be home a bit late cos some nice kind soul has blocked the school entrance deliberately. Aint some people prats? Drink emoticon Drink emoticon

hee hee, they have sent them home!! i think it was because yesterday i decided to go to the school and sit in the reception area until they had been printed off. They could see that i meant buisness and i got them! well you have to make a stand somewhere dont you?! Laugh emoticon

ha as usual lisa we have to fight for our rights (and our kids rights)...
wevehad same thing with not accessing things like OT and physio etc.
when we first moved here it took OT bloke 9 months to call me, despite numerous phone calls, letters emails etc from me.
when he did call my first words were
"bloody hell mate what d'ya do, take the bleeding scenic route via Glasgow" (were in wales)

its still all going on now. we get promised this and that but nothing actually materialises.
its so frustrating and so hard to keep up with... you forget who youve spoken too, whos doing what etc, so now im keeping a diary of calls made and meetings held etc...
feel at least like we have a little more clout if i can say "i called you on such and such a date and you said such and such so whats happening" etc.
