Once upon a time there use to be lots of carers who would pop in and out of the chat room. These days there seems to be very few carers who are using the chat room
Can anyone tell me why the sudden drop in numbers of carers calling into the chat room?

Re: Where has everyone gone?
Fri 14 Mar 2008 06:36Sorry Christal can I apologise for not being there especially when you posted your message lastnight. I had been up since 3am and had been to The Big Plan event at the NEC in Birmingham. When I crawled in the front door at 8.30pm I was not greeted with, "Hello Mam how was your day," or a "Hello Mam did you enjoy your day." Instead I was greeted with, "MAM WHERE IS ME DINNER????" and that was not off my son with autism but off one of my other sons who does not have any disabilities. My daughter will object to me saying that stating that her brother has middle child syndrom. (Is there is such a disablity I keep asking her.)
So I was in bed just after I had popped in here at around 10.15pm and have been out for the count all night so if my son woke up through the night and has woken up half the neighbour hood. I am taking no blame but then again I am very lucky in that my neighbours neven complain about the noise from my son. I only seem to get asked when they don't hear him wondering where he is or what has happend to him. Now they do know if it is quiet through the night that he probably will be in respite.

Re: Where has everyone gone?
Fri 14 Mar 2008 14:52I am sorry that I haven't been able to come into the chat room lately - it has been busy here trying to sort out my oh with these Direct Payments. We are going to get some extra help with using a care agency and we are also arranging for someone to come in during the day to be with Mark so I can get out to do the shopping etc. I hope everyone is doing alright and I hope to get into the chatroom again soon.

Re: Where has everyone gone?
Fri 14 Mar 2008 20:44hello flower!
Nice to meet you.
if its any consolation your 13 yr old wll probably get worse before he gets better hahahahaha.
I have 2 boys age 9 and nearly 11,both fragile x /autistic and all sorts. plus two stroppy arsed teenage daughters, thank goodness one who has left to go to uni digs but unfortunately keeps coming back like a bleeding boomerang.plus we also have only dog in england with canine tourettes- its always a competition between him and youngest as to who can swear shout and bark the loudest.
plus 4 cats- one of whom 'fetches' better than the dog.
we did have a mental cat before these 4 but she died under aneasthetic, bless her, she was bonkers... used to sleep in her litter tray and s**t in her bed.
we dont live on a farm- more like we live in a zoo.
but it is rural- well, my house isnt exactly rural but we live on an island which is pretty rural.... we are the lucky ones: we have mains sewerage
ps plus we have 3 fish... amazingly these last lot have lasted longer than 3 weeks: usually youngest kills them so he can flush em down the loo (so bloody good job we got the mains sewerage then really!)
welcome!
Kerry
