i am finding life so stressing at the moment i just dont no what to do terry my husband is srarting to give up on life he says there is no point no one cares,so he has gone to bed says he is going to stay there till he dies, the trouble is i can see why he is like this i just spoke to the doctor told him whats going on he said leave him till monday then bring him down,his hands are so swollen so is leg he has an ulcer on his foot he cant even hold a drink he is in pain he cant breath propely, he has had test about his breathing that test dose not show any think we will bring you back in a few weeks and try some more go home and suffer till then what am i to do crying dont help shouting dont help there must be somethink i can do .

Fri 22 Feb 2008 19:42Oh fairymagic my heart goes out to you both. I was in much the same position you are now just over a year ago and my husband suffered very much like your husband is now. I wish I had a magic wand but all I can say is we are here for you both. Tell your husband not to give in. I know its hard but your life without him will be even harder. Take that from someone who knows. Bless you both.

Fri 22 Feb 2008 21:19he is giveing in he wont drink wont eat hopefully i can get him to at least have a drink soon but why cant i get help now there is no one doctors is shut till monday i cant call an amblance thay dont want to no when he had cancer i could call the nures but now any way thankyou you do help you no i feel not so alone xx

Fri 22 Feb 2008 23:25You are not alone fairymagic - I am starting to go through that with my terminally ill partner and I know how helpless you feel as you just can't think of anything to say to them to try and change how they feel.

Sat 23 Feb 2008 08:56It is the hardest thing in the world to watch someone you love in pain and distressed. It makes you feel so helpless. But I'm sure your being there, your love and you caring means so much and more than any words can say.

Sat 23 Feb 2008 11:04hi i have got him to drink i pulled the old trick on him started to cry told him icant take this heart ache i said if you give up i may as well you cant be with some one for 35 years your my sole mate how would i manage with out you (it was a trick but its true i made myself tell him i let the tears flow it sort of made me feel a little better) i dont no how long he will try for but hopefully at least till monday then maybe i mit be able to get some sort of help thankyou every one i no i am not alone big hugs to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope you don,t mind me saying this but it sounds like you husband is very depressed and needs help straight away from the doctors ,due to the way he is feeling,read up on the internet about depression this will give you an idea and help you understand more about this.I do hope you get the right help and he gets better ,for this is a very worring time for you to cope with ,my best wishes goes out to you and your husband.

Wed 27 Feb 2008 13:56hi yes i no he is depressed the distric nurse came round the other day she said much the same said to see doctor as soon as the only appotment i could get was today with a stand in doctor he said he cant do any think because he is only standing in our doc is on hoilday so terry said to me come on whats the point told you its pointless dont want to no would not even help with his very swollen hands i will wait till doc comes back i wish i could win the lotto then i could take him harley street ha ha
