very bad day.....

after being up in the small hours of the morning with my daughter, me and OH are feeling pretty tired. She decided to have a major screaming fit at 4am this morning. She slapped herself, bit herself, pulled her hair, and hit herself in her mouth thus causing it to bleed. These outbursts have continued steadily throughout the day. She has scratched her face really badly and made it bleed. Its heartbreaking to see her doing this and she is so strong that we had to try and restrict her from hurting herself even more. but she is a big girl and very strong. it really does wear you down. What is the saying "when life gives you lemons you make lemonade". Carers are very good at making lemonade. Drink emoticon

You poor sweethearts, I know what its like to have sleepless nights, not for the same reason as you though, have you thought about asking social services if you could have someone in to do a waking sit one or two nights a week, just so you could both have a good nights sleep , knowing that your Daughter is being looked after by someone else.

Take care.

Alice.

aww thank you alice. yes we arrange respite for her occasionally so that we can all get a break ( i have 2 other kids as well). The hardest thing is that my daughter cant tell us how she is feeling as her speech is not good. She hasnt been this bad for months now. hopefully she will be ok tommorow though. It has put serious strain on us all over the last few years. I am concerend for my OH though as he smokes far too much and has been getting chest pains just lately. i have told him that it is a warning sign and that he should give up smoking. work and homelife is so stressful for him though. we have to stick togeather through thick and thin though. thank you all for your kind replys. i am feeling a bit more positive today! i think it was just that she wore me down on saturday, but it isnt her fault, she did not ask to be bought into the world with her handicapp. i have made a momentous decision today. i am going back to college to study my level 3 teaching assistant course ( i ahve already done level 2) and i want to work in a special school. i have already got my placement at my daughters special school. so hopefully it is onward and upward now. thank you all Drink emoticon Drink emoticon
