January blues ..?

Hi, I'm new to this site and have been reading some of the posts on the boards - I'm filled with admiration for so many of you getting on with life when you have so much to cope with.
I care for my partner who has mental health problems. We cope a lot of the time with a good dose of black humour - but this time of year always seems to be the toughest. Also at the moment her medication is being changed - always a difficult time.
I'm scared to sleep at the moment - last night she self harmed quite badly, but at least not A&E badly - and so I am feeling burnt out and fed up. When things go horribly wrong - like major psychosis, which can be scary - it 's always at night.
We do get some support like OT and a CPN but there's nothing at night and I just feel so alone. : '-(
Sorry, this post is really just a moan. Roll on the long summer nights when nothing ever seems quite as bad.

Hi madnotstupid, I'm new here too, I care for my husband hes got COPD. I know what you mean about having to have a good sense of black humour, sometimes it's the only thing that keeps you going, don't loose it. And don't feel sorry about having a moan it does you good, makes you feel better somehow, it gets things of your chest.

Hi,
I have no idea what you are really going through, but I just wanted to let you know I am new to this too. We all try different avenues when we need support and those that we love are not always there to offer it or share it. You, We are allowed to moan, and I thought that this site was specially designed to help us off load all of that without being judged about who we adre or what we do.
You take care now, ok.

Hi
Im new to this site too, just been reading some of the postings. I think a problem shared is a problem halved and you never know if there is someone out there with a caring word or two that can make a difference in those dark moments. I have a grandson with ASD and would love to share with anyone who has a family member with this condition or any other special needs.

take care and God Bless
