At last!

OH had appointment this afternoon at the Cancer Centre.
Saw a lovely woman Doctor and she asked had we got a social worker, Macmillan Nurse and day visits to the Hospice. The answer was no to all 3. She was horrified and said she would arrange them all.
We had just got home when the phone rang and it was the Macmillan Triage nurse saying they would be in touch to arrange for a nurse to visit next week.
The Doctor gave us a leaflet for the Hospice and she and the nurse said it was really nice there and it would be good for him to go a day a week - either to just sit and chat and have tea and biscuits all day and meals or could take part in all the various activities which includes massage, reflexology, aromatherapy etc. She said they would arrange for us to go and have a look round first and then we could arrange when he could go. It's not really his 'thing' but I hope I can get him to go as it will be a change for him and he's always on about wanting a massage as his back aches.
So at last I feel like I have backup and a weekly visit from the nurse will be great for asking about any problems. The Doctor said if at anytime we are worried we can ring them and he will be seen straight away or if the nurse thinks he should be seen before his next appointment then she will arrange it. That just feels like a lot of responsibilty has been lifted from me.
Just thought I'd share some good news with you as had asked previously on here for advice on getting help.
