Hi all, I have read on another site that Carers Allowance may be under threat come march is this true?
Does the new Carers strategy indicate the government are moving in this direction?
If this is true what will it be replaced by?
I'm worried about this now, C.A. is paultry enough but I don't think we could survive without both it and the Carer premium for I.S. as our utility bills are through the roof dealing with extra heating and laundry etc.
If this is going to happen we need to know sooner rather than later.

Sat 24 Nov 2007 09:47Personally the carers allowance isnt worth the paper that describes it ? It is means tested anyway so those of us caring 24/7 only receive half the amount. Pay our bills, it would rent a hamster cage for a week. Heating, who can afford to put that on.eat balanced meals. Whats a proper meal, I eat once a day at what is left over. They wonder why we are all ill. How do you keep yourselves well with no nutrition. We are back to the days of Victorian slums and we are the people with nothing. Just keep on giving to every disaster in the world so they can eat and live. My thought is charity should begin at home, feed our own carers properly and look after us.
