A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (parcel delivery service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them
0906 6611911 ( a premium rate number )DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam orignating from Belize.
If you do call this number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed for FIFTEEN POUNDS for your phone call.
If you do recieve a card with these details please contactRoyal Mail Fraud 02072396655 or ICSTIS at www.icitis.org.ukSo keep SAFE/ all the best

Re: POSTAL SCAM TO BE AWARE OF
Thu 15 Nov 2007 21:05This scam has actually been on the go for some time. I got a card from them around a year ago now but didn't respond to it because I knew I wasn't expecting any packages. And just after that I saw a warning about it. But always better to keep these things in mind.

Re: POSTAL SCAM TO BE AWARE OF
Fri 16 Nov 2007 14:22Thanks, Coffee,
It's a bit like those scratch cards in magazines that tell you you have won a prize and you have to phone an 090- number to get a secret code before you can claim. The phone call costs more than the prize is worth!
It is possible to avoid these scams by blocking out-going calls from your own phone to premium rate numbers. That way you can't forget that 090- numbers are expensive to call and phone one by mistake.
Speak to customer services at BT or your telephone provider to arrange.

Re: POSTAL SCAM TO BE AWARE OF
Mon 19 Nov 2007 19:28Thankyou for making all of us aware of this scam. I had something similar happen over the phone but recognised it to be a scam, I didn't call the number back as I would have been charged a fortune. I think we all need to be careful of this type of thing especially with Christmas around the corner.
Regards
Lynn
