I am 28 and looking after my husband, and have been for a number of years now, Eventualy in 2005 he was awarded Diability Living Allowance at the middle care rate. We have 4 boys 8 and under who thankfully have no major health problems, We are really strugling now and need any help or advise that any one has to offer.
We live in a two bedroom flat and are curently on the waiting list for a house as my husband finds it hard to ge up and down the stairs, which they said could take upto 4 years. The boys are great but don't have it easy. And money is nonexistant, We are really strugling to pay the rent each month as although we do get housing benifit they have now deemed our rent to be exsesive even though they have been paying it since 2005. I hate to admit that some times the only thing we hav to eat is cerial, and the boys have often gone to school ith their shoes super glued as we cant aford new ones. This sitation is not helping in the slightest and I don't know what to do or where to go for help. The family fund is for families with sick children, is there any one for families with a sick parent?
If anyone could hep i would be most greatful.

hi have you applied for income support, carers allowance. you should also contact your local citizen advice centre, and also contact your local carers centre, not only will they give you the correct advice they more than likely have something in the way of activities for your children. hope this is of some use to you. good luck
